Help us see the light!

Burnham Parish Council is encouraging residents to report any issues with streetlights during the summer months, so that we can get as many of them sorted as possible before the darker months arrive.

We are very aware that there has been a backlog on some streetlight issues – particularly those requiring new heads, or new connections from the electricity company. We have been working hard to clear this backlog, having increased the available budget for this year, although some of this is still in progress.

We are now starting our annual streetlights inspection, and will be checking all of the lights. To help with this it would be really helpful to know of any issues you have spotted whilst it’s still summer. By the time we get to winter there is less daylight available to fix issues, less money available in the budget, and a bigger impact from any lights that aren’t working. Knowing the issues now lets us allocate the budget and plan works more effectively, ensuring that the lights are as good as possible for when they are really needed.

You can report streetlight faults using our new form at https://www.burnhamparish.gov.uk/streetlightform-1

We are also going be adding new stickers to the Parish Council’s streetlights so that it’s clearer which lights belong to us, and to make it easier to identify individual lights when reporting them. Some of the streetlights in Burnham belong to Buckinghamshire Council; so any issues with those lights need to be reported to them via https://www.fixmystreet.com/; but over 350 streetlights do belong to the Parish Council.

Please do report any issues now, and we’ll do our best to fix them before the winter!
