🌳 Introducing Truham Row - Enhancing the Route Through Burnham Park

Burnham Parish Council is delighted to share that a new avenue of trees has been planted in Burnham Park, further enhancing one of the key routes through this much-loved green space.

Until recently, one of the paths across the park was beautifully lined with mature native trees, while the parallel route remained open and bare.

We have now planted 9 new trees, 5 Copper Beech, and 4 Oak, which will grow and mature over time, providing shade, seasonal colour and an even more attractive setting for park users to enjoy.

We are pleased to announce that this new tree-lined path has been named Truham Row.

The name recognises the funding made possible through the filming of the hit Netflix series Heartstopper, which features several scenes filmed in Burnham Park. In the series, Burnham becomes the fictional town of “Truham”, and we have now installed a sign to mark this connection, as pictured.

Looking ahead, the Council has further plans for Truham Row. We are inviting expressions of interest for sponsorship of a memorial bench along the avenue. This could provide a meaningful way to commemorate a loved one in a beautiful park setting.

If you would like to find out more about sponsoring a bench, please contact Laiba at assistantclerk@burnhamparish.gov.uk

We have also allocated funding for solar lighting along this route to improve visibility and safety. Options are currently being explored to ensure the lights are protected from vandalism, and we hope to proceed with installation soon.

We look forward to seeing Truham Row flourish for many years to come!
