Cllr John Carey - Vice-Chairman of the Council

Biography: I have lived in Eastfield Road, Lent Rise with my family since 1988 and became involved with the local community immediately, joining Burnham and Hitcham Scout Groups as a leader. Later I was to become Group Scout Leader at Lent Rise and Dorney and also a Trustee of Care & Share.

I am a Trustee of The Well at Lent Rise, A member of St Peter's PCC, an ambassador for Child Trust Fund, a Burnham and Slough Deanery, a mental health first aider for youth and a local charity, helping both the young and the elderly. I am also involved in school governance where, most recently, my interests have been on the wellbeing of Burnham children who moved to Bourne End schools and elsewhere.

I am extremely aware of the problems we have regarding the volume of traffic and speeding in our ward, which we are working to address with the County Council.
