Goodbye to our Clerk, Louise Hayday!

We bid a fond farewell to our Parish Clerk, Louise Hayday, although a Clerk for 21 months, she has been a huge part of Burnham Parish Council and the Burnham community, where Louise initially joined us as Operations Manager and has been a part of the Council for circa 10 years! Bar her short sprint at Wendover Council which allowed Louise to pursue her CILCA qualification. After several changeover of Clerks at Burnham Parish Council, Louise decided to return to Burnham Council as The Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer.

Louise resides in Chesham, which meant over an hour drive religiously every day to work, sometimes even more in horrendous traffic situations! Louise’s move to Chesham Town Council as CEO and Town Clerk, albeit a huge loss to us, it is a huge gain to Chesham.

Last week, Councillors and council staff were joined by members from organisations, community groups and residents who have fondly worked with Louise to say goodbye and wish her all the best in her new role, where we are sure she will excel! Louise has been at the forefront of several projects and accomplishments within the Council which has been highlighted by Burnham Parish Chairman, Marie Hammon in her very apt speech (see below).

Although you will be sadly missed Louise, we are all very proud and would like to congratulate and thank you on behalf of Burnham Parish Council!

Louise’s last day as Parish Clerk will be Friday 22nd December 2023.
