Policing and Crime in Burnham

ree

The Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley Police, which covers all of Buckinghamshire as well as Berkshire and Oxfordshire, has accepted an invitation from Burnham Parish Council to come to a meeting in Burnham to hear about the concerns and opinions of residents about crime and policing.

Matthew Barber will be at Burnham Park Hall, along with a local Neighbourhood Chief Inspector, on Tuesday 20th January 2026 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, and will take questions.

As the Police and Crime Commissioner, Mr Barber is responsible for setting the budget and priorities for our police force; whilst uniformed officers are responsible for police operations.

The Parish Council is very aware of local concerns around policing and crime, including retail crime, serious violent crime, anti-social behaviour and hate crime. This is your opportunity to raise these issues, or anything else connected to policing or crime, with the person who sets the police budget and priorities for the whole area.

Questions can be submitted in advance to the Parish Clerk - clerk@burnhamparish.gov.uk - including if you are not able to attend in person; or you can ask questions on the night. Please note that they will not be able to answer specific questions about individual cases or ongoing investigations.

If you would like to attend, please come to Burnham Park Hall for 6:30pm on Tuesday 20th January 2026.
