Burnham Parish Council is very pleased to announce that we have now reached agreement with Buckinghamshire Council on a new deal for the Parish Council to manage the Pond at Lent Green Lane.
This has been a long and often frustrating process since the last agreement expired, meaning that the pond, which is owned by Buckinghamshire Council, has not been properly looked after in recent years.
However we do now have an agreement, and are just going through final legal checks on the details. The Parish is putting aside a budget for tree works, signage etc, and hopes to officially take over management of the pond again from 1st April. Bucks Council will retain responsibility for the dredging, and the handover date is to allow time for an independent survey of the pond to confirm what dredging is needed.
We are also hoping to hold an event in the Spring to mark the 'reopening' of the pond as a properly managed space.
